Resolve

Specify a valid or installed language pack

The resolution for this error depends on whether you were installing or removing a language pack.

  • If you were installing a pack, the path that you specified with the /p option does not contain a valid language pack. If you specified a folder, then Lpksetup will search that folder and all subfolders for valid language pack files. Specify the correct path to a valid language pack and try again.
  • If you were removing a pack, the language that you are trying to remove is not installed on the computer. This can happen if the list of installed languages has not been refreshed. To refresh the list, restart the computer and try the operation again.

Verify

To verify that the language pack was successfully installed or removed:

  1. In Control Panel, click Change display language (located under the Clock, Language, and Region section).
  2. Verify the language is listed (or not listed) in the drop-down list.

Note: The drop-down list will only be visible if you have already installed a language pack or if your operating system supports Multilingual User Interface (MUI). MUI language packs can only be installed on Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows Vista Enterprise.
