Event ID 114 — AD RMS Logging service configuration

The Active Directory Rights Management Services (AD RMS) logging service is installed as a Windows service and is used to send the logging information from the message queue on each AD RMS server in the cluster to the logging database.

Resolve
Reinstall AD RMS
If the AD RMS logging service does not exist or is not registered on the computer, you must reinstall AD RMS to create the logging service again.
To perform these procedures, you must be a member of the local Administrators group, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority.
Remove the Active Directory Rights Management Services role
To remove the Active Directory Rights Management Services role:
- Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Server Manager.
- In the Roles Summary section, click Remove Roles, and then click Next.
- Clear the Active Directory Rights Management Services check box, and then click Next.
- Click Remove.
Install the AD RMS role by using Server Manager
To install the AD RMS role by using Server Manager:
- Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Server Manager.
- In the Roles Summary section, click Add Roles, and then click Next.
- Select the Active Directory Rights Management Services check box, and then click Next.
- Complete the appropriate information in the AD RMS role wizard setup.
- Click Install.
- When the installation is complete, click Close.
Verify
To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the local Administrators group, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority.
To verify that the AD RMS logging service is created:
- Log on to the server in the AD RMS cluster.
- Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Services.
- In the results pane, double-click AD RMS Logging Service.
- Under Service status, make sure that the status is Started. If the status is not Started, click Start.
- Make sure Startup type is set to Automatic.
- Click OK.
