Error Message: Access Denied - Specified user is not a member of the TelnetClients group

This problem occurs when neither the user account nor any of the groups it is a member of are a member of the TelnetClients group.

Diagnosis

By default, when Telnet Server is first installed no one has access to it. The administrator of the Telnet server must create a local group called TelnetClients, and then add appropriate users or groups to that group.

Resolution

To solve this problem, ensure that the user account, or one of the groups of which it is a member (such as the Users group), is a member of the TelnetClients group. For a procedure to do this, see Grant Access to a Telnet Server in the Telnet Operations Guide.

Verification

After adding the users or groups to the TelnetClients group, affected users must log out and log on again in order to be a member of the TelnetClients group.
