Software restriction policies provide network administrators with a mechanism for identifying software programs running on computers in a domain, and controls the ability of those programs to execute. These policies can thus improve system integrity and manageability.

Review software restriction policies
Software restriction policies on the computer have not allowed application installation or configuration. You should review your software restriction settings.
To review software restriction policies:
- Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Local Security Policy.
- In the navigation pane, expand Security Settings, and then expand Software Restriction Policies.

Verify
To verify that software restriction policies are currently set:
