Disable an IIS Manager User Account (IIS 7)

Disable an IIS Manager user account when you want to temporarily restrict the user from connecting to all sites and applications for which they have permissions. Disabling a user account lets you restrict the user without actually removing the user account from IIS Manager.

Exceptions to feature requirements

  • None

To disable an IIS Manager user account

  1. Open IIS Manager. For information about opening IIS Manager, see Open IIS Manager (IIS 7).

  2. In Features View, double-click IIS Manager Users.

  3. On the IIS Manager Users page, select the user account that you want to disable.

  4. In the Actions pane, click Disable.
