Installing the WebDAV Extension on IIS 7
Applies To: Windows Server 2008
Installation Notes
The following prerequisites must be fulfilled in order to install the WebDAV Extension:
Requirements
You must be using Windows ServerĀ® 2008.
IIS 7 must be installed, and IIS Manager should be installed if you are going to manage the WebDAV Extension by using the IIS 7 user interface.
You must install the WebDAV Extension as an administrator. (See the Downloading and Installing section for more information.)
IIS 7 supports a newly shared configuration environment, which must be disabled on each server in a Web farm before you install the WebDAV Extension for each node.
Note
Shared configuration can be re-enabled after the WebDAV Extension has been installed.
Downloading and Installing
There are two separate downloadable packages for the WebDAV Extension; you will have to download the appropriate package for your version of Windows Server 2008:
WebDAV Extension for IIS 7.0 (x64)
WebDAV Extension for IIS 7.0 (x86)
You must run the installation package as an administrator. One of the following methods can accomplish this:
Log on to your server by using the actual account named "Administrator."
Log on by using an account that has administrator privileges and opening a command-prompt window by right-clicking the Command Prompt menu item that is located in the Accessories menu for Windows-based programs and selecting Run as administrator. Type the appropriate command from the following list for your version of Windows to run the installation:
msiexec /I webdav_x64_rtw.msi
msiexec /I webdav_x86_rtw.msi
