The File Server Storage Reports Manager service is running even though all reports, file management tasks, and classification rules have finished.

Impact

The File Server Storage Reports Manager service will consume system memory, which could reduce system performance.

Resolution

Stop the File Server Storage Reports Manager service.

Membership in the local Administrators group, or equivalent, on the server that you plan to configure, is the minimum required to complete these procedures.

To stop the File Server Reports Manager service

  1. Open an elevated Command Prompt window. Click Start, point to All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

  2. Type net stop srmsvc and press ENTER to stop the service.
