RD Session Host Migration: Post-Migration Tasks

Retire the source role service servers after migration
After you gather the data you need from the source server and complete and verify the migration, the source server can be retired by removing it from the domain and shutting it down.
Restore the RD Session Host server
This section describes how to restore the RD Session Host server in the event of migration failure by rolling back the migration.
To roll back the migration of an RD Session Host server, return the source computer to service by removing the destination server and rejoining the original server to the domain. The migration can be rolled back if the source server is still available in the state it was in after the migration was completed.
Note
If there is more than one role service on the server that you are taking out of use, after removing the source server from the domain, you will not have access to any other role services on that computer.
