Healthcare lakehouse
The foundational element of the healthcare data solutions in Microsoft Fabric is the healthcare lakehouse. The Healthcare lakehouse is built on a modern data architecture that applies FHIR® (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) and DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine). The low-cost, scalability, and flexibility healthcare lakehouse supports structured clinical, unstructured clinical, and medical imaging data.
Healthcare lake house is developed on medallion lakehouse architecture that is purpose-built for healthcare customers. The goal is to improve the structure and quality of data incrementally and progressively as it flows through each layer of the architecture (from Bronze to Silver to Gold layer tables).
