Sales price models
Before you start building your price models, you must define a default currency, which you use when building your sales price models. To do so, go to Product information management > Setup > Product information management parameters. Select the Constraint-Based product configuration models tab. Select the dropdown list under Default currency and then select your currency.
Build your sales price models
Follow these steps to build a sales price model:
Go to Product information management > Products > Product configuration models.
Select Model on the Action Pane and then select Set up > Price models.
Select a price model or add a new one to the grid.
Select Edit to open the edit page.
Note
The form header displays the default currency and allows the addition of new currencies for configuring prices. The left pane lists all components and user requirements of the product model. Each node in the product model tree can feature a base-price expression and, optionally, multiple expression rules. An expression rule comprises a condition and an expression, with each rule governing a product option that impacts the product's pricing. When constructing conditions and expressions, you can use the same operators that are available for calculations in the product model. The expression editor supports conditions and expressions seamlessly.
Add support for multiple currencies
When a configurable product is sold, the system first verifies if prices are explicitly set in the customer's currency. If explicit values are present, the system uses those values. If not, the system uses currency exchange rates that are set up for the sales company to convert the default currency value into the customer's currency. To add explicit prices in an extra currency, open the edit page for your price model. Select the Add button to open the Currencies dropdown dialog. Notice that the Current currency dropdown list includes the currency that you added along with other previously added currencies. Select the currency that you added in the Current currency field. Notice that two expression fields now show in the Expression rules section: Expression and Default expressions.
Set up selection criteria for price models
After configuring your price models, you need to define at least one selection criterion to determine which price model to use during configuration, quoting, or ordering. This process involves setting up one or more queries. These queries, in conjunction with matching sales price models, offer significant flexibility in tailoring sales prices based on specific criteria, such as customer profiles, geographic regions, time periods, and other relevant factors.
Follow these steps to set up selection criteria for price models:
Go to Product information management > Products > Product configuration models.
Select your desired configuration model, select Model on the Action Pane, and then select Set up > Price model criteria.
Select New.
Enter a Name and Description.
In the Price model field, select a price model.
Select the type of order where the query applies in the Order type field.
In the Valid from and Expire by fields, specify when the query should apply.
Select the row for the query that you want to define and then select Edit on the Action Pane. Use the query designer dialog to define the conditions under which the system should apply the price model for the row that you selected.
Set attribute-based sales prices for the product model version
To specify attribute-based sales prices for the product model version, follow these steps:
Go to Product information management > Products > Product configuration models.
Select your desired record.
Select the Model tab on the Action Pane and then select Product model details > Versions.
Ensure that the Pricing method is set to Attribute based.
