Lab - Create a voyage leg

Read this first - before you start the lab!

Important

For this lab, you CAN'T sign in with your own credentials. Use the following steps to sign in to your lab environment with the correct credentials.

  1. Ensure that you're signed in to Microsoft Learn.
  2. Select Launch VM mode or Sign in to launch VM mode in this unit.
  3. In the Resources tab on the lab side bar, select the T icon next to Password in the Finance and Operations box, to have the administrator password for the Virtual Machine (VM) entered for you.
  4. Select Enter.
  5. Microsoft Edge opens. Wait for it to navigate to the Sign in page for finance and operations. If you experience an issue with the Sign in page loading, try to restart the browser in the VM.
  6. On the Microsoft Sign in page in finance and operations, place your mouse cursor into the Username field.
  7. On the Resources tab of the lab side bar, below the Azure portal heading, select the T icon next to Username, then press Enter.
  8. Your mouse cursor is now in the Password page.
  9. On the Resources tab of the lab side bar, below the Azure portal heading, select the T icon next to select Password, then press Enter.
  10. In the Save password window, select Never.
  11. Select Accept in the Permissions requested page.
  12. To see the lab instructions, select the Instructions tab on the lab side bar.

You can now begin your work on this lab.

Your organization has developed a new voyage and requires your assistance in developing a new leg from Manzanillo, Mexico to Long Beach, California, and a journey template that includes cargo loading, journey ports, customs, and local transportation.

First, you need to add the new shipping port of Manzanillo, Mexico.

  1. Go to Landed cost > Delivery information setup > Shipping ports.

  2. Select New in the Action Pane.

  3. Enter MXZLO in the Shipping port field.

  4. In the Description field, enter Manzanillo Mexico.

  5. In the Action Pane, select Save.

  6. Now you need to create a new leg. Go to Landed cost > Multi-leg journeys setup > Legs.

  7. Select New in the Action Pane.

  8. In the Leg field, enter MXZLO- USLGB.

  9. In the Description field, enter Manzanillo Mexico- USLGB.

  10. In the From port field, select Manzanillo, Mexico.

  11. In the To port field, select Long Beach USA.

  12. In the Mode of delivery field, select Ocean.

  13. Select Save on the Action Pane to create the new leg.

  14. Next you need to create a journey template for this leg. Go to Landed cost > Multi-leg journeys setup > Journey templates.

  15. In the Action Pane, select New.

  16. In the Journey template field, enter MXZLO-USLGB.

  17. In the Description field, enter Manzanillo Mexico- Long Beach USA.

  18. In the Lines section, select Add. There's no need to enter line descriptions. The Description field will automatically be updated based on the information entered when the leg was created.

  19. In the Leg field, select 10-Load.

  20. The From port, To port and Mode of delivery fields will autofill with XXNA.

  21. Add another line.

  22. In the Leg field, select MXZLO-USLGB from the menu.

  23. The From port, To port and Mode of delivery fields will autofill.

  24. In the Journey from field select the check box.

  25. In the Journey to field, select the check box.

  26. Add a new line.

  27. In the Leg field, select 30-Customs.

  28. The From port, To port and Mode of delivery fields will autofill.

  29. Add a new line.

  30. In the Leg field, select 40-Local.

  31. The From port, To port and Mode of delivery fields will autofill.

  32. Add a new line.

  33. In the Leg field, select 50-AtWHS.

  34. The From port, To port and Mode of delivery fields will autofill.

  35. Select Save on the Action Pane.

Close the lab environment

  1. Select Done in the Instructions pane in the lab side bar.
  2. In the Lab is complete window, select Continue, and then select Leave to return to the next unit in the module.
