Work with simultaneous operations
You can use simultaneous operations in simple and complex route networks. A simultaneous operation is a process where you use several resources at the same time and where you must schedule the resources with limited capacity.
You must assign the same number to simultaneous operations. Simultaneous operations use the capacity of several resources at the same time, such as using a machine, its operator, and possibly a specific tool.
In addition, the simultaneous operations must be prioritized. To prioritize simultaneous operations, you would first apply the same operation number to all simultaneous operations, and then the primary operation is specified.
Characteristics of working with primary operations are:
The primary operation is the one that uses a resource that represents a bottleneck or limits the simultaneous operations.
Only one primary operation is allowed for each operation number in a route.
All other simultaneous operations are secondary; therefore, the system doesn't take their capacity into consideration.
You can set up a total of 20 secondary operations for each operation.
