IWICComponentFactory::CreateMetadataReader method (wincodecsdk.h)

Creates an IWICMetadataReader based on the given parameters.

Syntax

HRESULT CreateMetadataReader(
  [in]  REFGUID            guidMetadataFormat,
  [in]  const GUID         *pguidVendor,
  [in]  DWORD              dwOptions,
  [in]  IStream            *pIStream,
  [out] IWICMetadataReader **ppIReader
);

Parameters

[in] guidMetadataFormat

Type: REFGUID

The GUID of the desired metadata format.

[in] pguidVendor

Type: const GUID*

Pointer to the GUID of the desired metadata reader vendor.

[in] dwOptions

Type: DWORD

The WICPersistOptions and WICMetadataCreationOptions options to use when creating the metadata reader.

[in] pIStream

Type: IStream*

Pointer to a stream in which to initialize the reader with. If NULL, the metadata reader will be empty.

[out] ppIReader

Type: IWICMetadataReader**

A pointer that receives a pointer to the new metadata reader.

Return value

Type: HRESULT

If this method succeeds, it returns S_OK. Otherwise, it returns an HRESULT error code.
