Security Intelligence Report and other security guidance – Part 1

Recently on MSDN, we featured 2 important pieces of security guidance for developers – the Windows Vista ISV Security article and the 2007 Office Security Guide.  This provides relevant guidance to assist developers in understanding the new security technology built into Vista and Office; as well as learn ways and techniques to enhance security of their custom applications built on them.  Also on MSDN are the "How Do I?" Videos for Security.  These videos explore a variety of security questions for developers, including encryption, handling attacks, security best practices, and a lot more. New videos are added regularly, so check back often and tell your customers about it!

Many of you may already be aware of the Security intelligence Report (SIR) which we launched in November.  This version 3 of the SIR provides an in-depth perspective on the changing threat landscape including software vulnerability disclosures and exploits, malicious software (malware), and potentially unwanted software.

Finally, starting in Jan 2008, we are running a series of MSDN events in 46 cities focusing on web and platform security.  As a special bonus, we’re tackling the biggest security risks and highlighting the top counter measures available for Websites and Web applications of all kinds.  So, spread the words around and get your customers and partners to sign up for the event.  Visit https://www.msdnevents.com/ for more details on registration.
