Hi, SBS 2003 has ISA 2004, what about ISA on SBS 2008? Will it be totally replaced by RRAS? Thanks

So, for my customers that we have configured ISA 2004 with SBS Premium 2003 now have to upgrade to Windows Essential Business Server?  That sounds expensive? Sounds like SBS 2003 Premiums Users that want to keep ISA are left out in the cold.

What happened to ISA in SBS???

32 or 64 bit?:  It is 64 bit only.  Exchange 2007 requires 64 bits. SBS Premium 2003 -> 2008  From what I heard, if you have SA, then you get the ISA as well Upgrade?  There is not (nor has there ever been) an in-place upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit operating systems.  You can't do it with XP32->XP64 or Vista32->Vista64, nor can you with Server32.  There is a migration path, however. 50 or 75?  SBS will support 75 users, but once you have 50, it is time to look at WEBS.  Think of it as a way to upsell.  If you have a client with 45 users, and they are planning to grow, go with WEBS.  If you have a client with 30 users and the growth curve is flatter, go with SBS, knowing that when they get to 60+ users, they need to start looking at WEBS.

What is going to happen to company whch bought SBS 2003 Premium Edition with SA? I understand that we will get SBS 2008 Premium Edition but between the loss of ISA and the elapsed time between the release of SBS 2003 and SBS 2008 made our choice to invest in SA a bad and costly investmment. Any idea if and when a public Beta will be available? I have already allocated the fionancial resources to buy a new server but being able to test SBS 2008 would b very helpful. TIA Stefano

What about those that need to upgrade now, or need a new installation now? Will there be any sort of "Buy it now, get SA (for free) and upgrade when the new version comes out" deal available? I certainly hope so....

Why is everyone asking about ISA? Windows Essential Business Server 2008 is built upon Windows Server 2008 and includes: Exchange Server 2007 Forefront Security for Exchange Server System Center Essentials 2007 Next version of Internet Security and Acceleration Server It is part of SBS 2008. It's the part that says "Next version of Internet Security and Acceleration Server" Premium will only add SQL 2008, but it is on a separate server so you also get Windows Server 2008 to run SQL on.
