About the IMultilanguage Interfaces

A version of this page is also available for

Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3

4/8/2010

Effective with Windows CE .NET 4.2, the IMultiLanguage2 interface is the base interface for the MLang API. This interface provides methods for character set conversions, code page detection, and the retrieval of information on code pages, locales, and character sets. It also provides access to the IEnumCodePage, IEnumRfc1766, and IMLangConvertCharset interfaces.

The IMultiLanguage2 interface subsumes the functionality of IMultiLanguage, adding and expanding methods for code page detection and character set conversion. This interface is obsolete although, as with all COM interfaces, it is still supported.

The IMultiLanguage3 interface inherits from IMultiLanguage2 and adds two methods for detecting the encoding of outbound Unicode text.
