This function is to be implemented by a service and will be called by Services.exe.
Syntax
BOOL xxx_Open(
DWORD dwData,
DWORD dwAccess,
DWORD dwShareMode
);
Parameters
- dwData
[in] Specifies the value returned by xxx_Init (Services.exe) for the given service instance.
dwAccess
[in] Specifies the type of access to the object. An application can obtain read, write, read-write, or device query access. This parameter can be any combination of the following values.Value Description GENERIC_READ
Specifies read access to the object. Data can be read from a file and the file pointer can be moved. It can be combined with GENERIC_WRITE to create read-write access.
GENERIC_WRITE
Specifies write access to the object. Data can be written to the file and the file pointer can be moved. It can be combined with GENERIC_READ for read-write access.
dwShareMode
[in] Specifies how the object can be shared. If dwShareMode is zero, than the object cannot be shared. Subsequent open operation on the object will fail, until the handle is closed. To share the object, use a combination of one or more of the following values.Value Description FILE_SHARE_READ
Subsequent open operations on the object will succeed only if read access is requested.
FILE_SHARE_WRITE
Subsequent open operations on the object will succeed only if write access is requested.
Return Value
TRUE indicates success. FALSE indicates failure.
Remarks
This function is called during an application's call to CreateFile. The values for the dwAccess and dwShareMode parameters are passed directly from the call to CreateFile.
Services.exe uses the xxx prefix. When implementing the stream interface, replace xxx with a prefix appropriate for your specific implementation.
