IShellFind::StartFind

The StartFind method is called by the Find application to start a search.

Syntax

HRESULT StartFind (
  FINDITEMATTRIBUTES * pfiaFilter,
  DWORD grfifFlags
);

Parameters

  • grfifFlags
    [in] Flags.

Return Value

This method should return S_OK if it was successful or appropriate errors if not.

Remarks

The pfiaFilter parameter specifies parameters with which to filter the find. The pfiaFilter->grfiamMask specifies which fields of pfiaFilter are active. Currently, the only filters that are implemented are FIAM_TEXT and FIAM_SCOPE. The text to search for is pfiaFilter->pszFindText.
