FDRM Registry Settings

The following table shows the named values for the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\System\FDRM registry key that are used to customize the FDRM engine, UI and settings. The default is for all settings to be enabled.

Value : type Description

DLL : String

FDRM engine name.

Preview : Dword

Maximum time allowed to preview protected content.

The default setting for the Preview value is three seconds.

Delay : Dword

The Delay value specifies the time delay before FDRM-protected content in Messaging Applications is shown by messaging applications.

The default setting for the Delay value is two seconds.

PersistentView : Dword

The PersistentView value specifies the time that applications delay between re-verifying rights for applications with persistent view. For example on home screens.

The default setting for the PersistentView value is 24 hours.

EnableCountMsg : Dword

Enable or disable count-based rights notification.

The FDRM engine provides any count-based rights notification or interval-based rights notification UI.

EnableLastCountMsg : Dword

Enable or disable Last Count-based rights notification.

The FDRM engine provides any count-based rights notification UI.

EnableIntervalMsg : Dword

Enable or disable interval-based rights notification.

The FDRM engine provides any interval-based rights notification UI.

EnableConnectMsg : Dword

Enable or disable Activation Confirmation.

The FDRM engine provides any activation confirmation UI. You can set the registry key to control suppressing or rendering of the UI from the FDRM engine.

PendingFlag : Dword

The length of time for the pending flag to be left in the rights database after a rights reactivation.

The default setting for the PendingFlag value is ten minutes.

Note

You register MIME types for a DRM-enabled applications in the same way as you do for a non-DRM-enabled application.
