Specify the Wi-Fi Network Name Example for OMA DM

4/8/2010

These examples create an access-point or device-to-device network named "Network Name" and moves it to the top of the network preference order.

Code Examples

The following example shows how to specify the Wi-Fi network name for an access-point network.

<Add>
     <CmdID>2</CmdID>
     <Item>
         <Target><LocURI>./Vendor/MSFT/Wi-Fi/access-point/Network%20Name</LocURI></Target>
        <Meta>
            <Format xmlns="syncml:metinf">node</Format>
        </Meta>
     </Item>
</Add>

The following example shows how to specify the Wi-Fi network name for a device-to-device network.

<Add>
     <CmdID>2</CmdID>
     <Item>
         <Target><LocURI>./Vendor/MSFT/Wi-Fi/ad-hoc/Network%20Name</LocURI></Target>
        <Meta>
            <Format xmlns="syncml:metinf">node</Format>
        </Meta>
     </Item>
</Add>

Remarks

When you add the network name, default values are assigned for the other Wi-Fi settings. To configure the other Wi-Fi settings, use <replace> tags.

One provisioning XML file typically contains configuration information for multiple Configuration Service Providers. To use this example, you must replace the values as appropriate, and add the node as a child of the SyncBody node in an OMA DM provisioning file. For more information about the syntax of the provisioning file, see OMA DM Provisioning Files.
