WAP Binary XML Content Format Features

WAP Binary XML (WBXML) Content Format is a compact binary representation of XML that retains functionality and semantic information while reducing transmission size. The binary format encodes the structure and content of an XML document while removing metadata such as the document type definition (DTD) and conditional sections. The provisioning XML file is converted into WBXML by the Push Proxy Gateway (PPG) or Push Initiator. WBXML uses XML version 1.0.
