Catalog Import Properties Dialog Box

Use the Catalog Import Properties dialog box to specify the data to be imported from your catalog database(s) by the Catalog Import DTS task. Importing catalog data provides transaction reports that have more descriptive product information than is available in transaction data. You can also run reports to analyze the sale of products.

Description

Type a description for the import task. The maximum number of characters for the description is 255 characters.

Operation level

From the drop-down list, select an operation level:

  • Site level. Import catalog data for the specified site only.

  • Data Warehouse level. Import catalog data for all the sites associated with the Data Warehouse.

Site name

Select from the drop-down list the site that contains the data that you want to import.

Data Warehouse name

Select from the drop-down list the Data Warehouse associated with the sites that contain the data that you want to import.

If you perform a Data Warehouse level operation to import catalog data for all sites associated with the Data Warehouse, and if two or more sites have catalog and products with the same names, the Catalog data import DTS task processes the catalogs as if they have the same properties. If the catalogs do not have the same properties, you must perform a Site level operation.

Incremental load

Select to only import new catalog data generated since the last time that you ran the import process.

Full load

Select to import all catalog data in the log file.

Number of retries

Type the number of times you want the task to retry connection failures to the Data Warehouse. The default number of retry attempts is 10 times.

Seconds between retries

Type the number of seconds you want the task to wait between retry attempts. The default time interval is 30 seconds.
