How to Add Users to a CSS Security Group

For the latest version of Commerce Server 2007 Help, see the Microsoft Web site.

This topic provides steps for adding users to a Commerce Server Staging (CSS) security group. You grant permissions to users to perform specific staging tasks by adding them to one of the following three groups:

  • CSS Administrators. Members of this group have permissions to perform administrative tasks in CSS.

  • CSS Operators. Members of this group have permissions to start, stop, and rollback projects.

  • CSS_SG (CSS Service Group). Members of this group have permissions to run the CSS service.

To add users to a CSS security group

  1. Log on to the CSS server for which the CSS user or service account is defined. Log on with an account that is a member of the local system administrators group.

  2. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Computer Management.

  3. In Computer Management, expand System Tools, expand Local Users and Groups, and then click Groups.

  4. In the right pane, double-click the CSS security group to which you want to add the CSS account. For example, CSS Administrators, CSS Operators, or CSS_SG.

  5. In the <CSS Group>Properties dialog box, click Add.

  6. In the Select Users, Computers, or Groups dialog box, in the Enter the object names to select box, type the user account that you want to add, and then click OK.

  7. In the <CSS Group>Properties dialog box, click OK.
