Before you perform this procedure, confirm that:

Important :
At the minimum, you must be a member of the Farm Administrators SharePoint group to complete this procedure.

Configure content deployment settings

Use the following procedure to configure content deployment settings. Content deployment settings for both incoming and outgoing deployment jobs are set on the Content Deployment Settings page. If your farm is an authoring farm, you do not need to configure incoming (import) settings. If your farm is a staging farm, you need to configure both incoming (import) and outgoing (export) settings. If your farm is a production farm, you do not need to configure outgoing (export) settings.

To configure content deployment settings

1. On the top navigation bar of the Central Administration Web site, click Operations.

2. On the Operations page, in the Content Deployment section, click Content deployment settings.

3. On the Content Deployment Settings page, in the Accept Content Deployment Jobs section, do one of the following:

   • If you want to accept deployment jobs, select Accept incoming content deployment jobs.

   • If you don't want to accept deployment jobs, select Reject incoming content deployment jobs.

     You do not need to accept incoming jobs if the server is part of the authoring farm. Only servers in staging or production farms need to accept incoming deployment jobs.

4. Do one of the following:

   • If you are using the server to receive incoming deployment jobs, on the Server you want to use to manage import of content deployment jobs menu in the Import Server section, click the server that will receive jobs.

   • If you are using the server to send deployment jobs, on the Server you want to use to manage export of content deployment jobs menu in the Export Server section, click the server that will send jobs.

5. In the Connection Security section, do one of the following:

   • To use the HTTPS protocol, select Require encryption (recommended).

   • To use the HTTP protocol, select Do not require encryption.

6. In the Temporary Files section, type the path to use on both the import and export servers (as applicable) for storage of temporary files.

   Remarque :
   By default, a path on the local system drive is provided. Because both uncompressed and compressed files are stored at this location prior to export, consider using a different storage location on another drive.

7. In the Reporting section, in the Number of reports to retain for each job box, type the number of reports that you want to keep for each content deployment job that originates from this farm.

8. Click OK.
