Afficher l’emplacement de l’index de contenu d’un serveur d’index (Office SharePoint Server 2007)

As an index server crawls content, it creates or updates a content index. The content index stores text from crawled documents and grows as the index server crawls content.

When you deploy an index server, you establish the location of the content index that is associated with that server. After you deploy the index server, you can change the location of its content index according to your needs. This article explains how to view the content index location for an index server that you specify. You might want to check this location in situations such as the following:

  • You want to determine if the content index location has enough disk space to accommodate the content index as it grows.

  • An administrator changed the content index location after the index server was deployed. In such a case, the old content index is not automatically deleted, but remains in its previous location. To remove the old content index, you must delete it manually from its previous location. For more information, see Modifier l’emplacement de l’index de contenu d’un serveur d’index (Office SharePoint Server 2007).

In this article:

  • How to view the original location of a content index

This is the location that you established for the content index when you assigned the associated index server to a particular shared services provider (SSP).

  • How to view the current location of the content index

The current location of the content index is the same as the original location if an administrator has not moved the content index since installation.
