The Best Practices Analyzer tool for Team Foundation Server queries the data-tier server to determine the version of the database for Team Foundation. An information message appears that indicates which version is installed.

The following versions are known and reported:

8.51103.00	Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server Community Technology Preview (CTP) December 2005 and Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server Release Candidate. Important Note: Although these two releases share the same schema number, their schema is not the same.
8.50727.138	Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server (final release)
8.50727.327	Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server with Service Pack 1
9.20507.00	Visual Studio Team System 2008 Team Foundation Server (Release Candidate 2)
