Pour obtenir le nom du périphérique, utilisez la propriété Dns.GetHostName. Un nom par défaut typique est « PocketPC ».

Cet exemple affiche l'ID et le nom du périphérique dans des messages lors du chargement du formulaire.
Pour obtenir l'ID du périphérique, ou numéro de série, vous devez utiliser l'appel de code non managé pour accéder à la fonction KernelIoControl de Windows CE native.

Valeurs de retour et gestion des erreurs
La fonction KernelIoControl retourne true si l'ID de périphérique a été copié vers la mémoire tampon de sortie ; sinon, elle retourne false. Si KernelIoControl échoue, appelez la méthode GetLastWin32Error managée pour obtenir le code d'erreur Win32. Le code d'erreur est probablement l'un des suivants :
ERROR_NOT_SUPPORTED - Indique que le périphérique n'implémente pas le code de contrôle IOCTL_HAL_GET_DEVICEID.
ERROR_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER - Indique que la mémoire tampon de sortie n'était pas assez grande pour contenir l'ID de périphérique. Le nombre requis d'octets, spécifié par dwSize dans la structure DEVICE_ID, est retourné dans les quatre premiers octets de la mémoire tampon de sortie. Si cette erreur se produit, réaffectez la mémoire tampon de sortie à la taille spécifiée par dwSize et appelez à nouveau KernelIoControl.
