Query for an installed extension by using the extension identifier (ID).

Parameters
identifier
Type: System.StringThe unique identifier of an extension.
result
Type: Microsoft.VisualStudio.ExtensionManager.IInstalledExtension%An IExtension object that has the metadata of the queried extension if the extension is installed. Otherwise, returns nulla null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic).
Return Value
Type: System.Boolean
True if the extension is installed; otherwise, false.
Remarks
Although this API supports the Extension Manager infrastructure, we recommend that you do not use it because it is subject to change.
