Publishing Content
All scenarios that use the server ultimately revolve around content publishing. This is what Windows Media Services was engineered to do. Whether you are distributing live sporting events, building an entertainment service, or designing a distance learning Web site, part of your presentation will involve streaming content to a client. Windows Media Services distributes content by using publishing points. On-demand publishing points send one stream per client, and the client can stop, start, fast forward and rewind the content. Broadcast publishing points send one stream to multiple clients, and no client can control the stream other than to stop receiving it.
