L2TP/IPSec Catalog Items and Sysgen Variables (Compact 2013)
3/26/2014
To set up a virtual private network (VPN) client connection from a Windows Embedded Compact-based device to a corporate server that is more secure than a connection using only a Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP), you must implement the Layer Two Tunneling Protocol (L2TP)/IP Security Protocol (IPSec) in Windows Embedded Compact.
For more information, see L2TP/IPSec Reference.
For more information about how to add or remove catalog items, see Create Your First OS.
Hardware and Software Requirements
- Requires Dial-up Networking (RAS/PPP) (SYSGEN_PPP). For more information, see Dial-up Catalog Items and Sysgen Variables.
- Requires Diffie-Hellman/DSS Provider (SYSGEN_CRYPTO_DSSDH). For more information, see Cryptography Catalog Items and Sysgen Variables.
- Requires Certificates (CryptoAPI 2.0) (SYSGEN_CERTS). For more information, see Certificates Catalog Items and Sysgen Variables.
- Requires IPSec (SYSGEN_IPSEC). For more information, see IPSec Catalog Items and Sysgen Variables.
