Credential Manager (Compact 2013)

3/28/2014

Credential manager is one of the security technologies available in Windows Embedded Compact that you use to provide a single point for managing credentials. You use credential manager to manage credential information such as user names and passwords. Credential Manager provides storage for cached credentials and enables the sharing of common credentials. A credential represents information used to access resources on behalf of a user. An example of a user credential is the password of a domain user that is used to access remote file shares.

Credential Manager consists of a set of APIs that applications can use to cache and obtain cached credentials.

To add this feature to your OS, see Credential Manager Catalog Items and Sysgen Variables.
