Client Settings (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

1/6/2010

The following client settings configure the client information that is not related to the communications link.

For example, MSN® Messenger displays banners that corporate customers might not want to see. These settings can be configured for a specific application or for multiple applications as specified in the name attribute.

For more information about the XML schema that defines these settings, see RTC Client API XML Schema.

  • banner
If enabled, the banner window is not visible.

By default, this option allows banners to be displayed.

  • curver
The current API version of the client application.
  • data
Other client-specific information. This is a binary large object (BLOB) of XML that the client application can understand, but that the RTC Client API does not handle.

For example, MSN Messenger includes information that disables connectivity to the MSN Messenger service. Because connectivity to the MSN Messenger service is not by means of SIP, the RTC Client API does not control this by means of the allowed servers settings.

  • minver
The minimum API version that is supported.
  • name
The name of the client application; for example, MSN Messenger. This allows the client application to retrieve settings that are specific to it.

If no name is specified, the settings are applied to any application.

  • updates
Boolean value specifying whether updates are supported by the client application.
  • updateuri
The URI for installing an updated version of the client application.
