IXRUserControl::GetContent (Compact 2013)

3/28/2014

This method retrieves the object that represents the content that is displayed inside this control.

Syntax

virtual HRESULT STDMETHODCALLTYPE GetContent(
    IXRUIElement **ppContent
) = 0;

Parameters

  • ppContent
    [out] Address of a pointer to an IXRUIElement derived object that represents the content displayed inside this control.

Return Value

Returns an HRESULT that indicates success or failure.

Remarks

The retrieved object in ppContent can represent a parent node of a branch of the element tree that contains child content. The child content of this parent node can be predefined in the XAML markup which was loaded by the application and parsed into the element tree.

The object in ppContent, together with its contents, is displayed on-screen inside the IXRUserControl control.

To use a specific interface pointer type, you can use the helper template version of this method that XAML for Windows Embedded provides. When you supply a derived type, this version automatically supplies a type-safe method that implicitly converts the returned type from a generic interface so you do not have to explicitly call QueryInterface to convert the generic interface into the required object type.
