Connection Manager Catalog Items and Sysgen Variables (Compact 2013)
3/26/2014
In Windows Embedded Compact, you can add Connection Manager to create and manage network connections, such as Internet and Bluetooth connections, on a Windows Embedded Compact powered device.
For more information, see Connection Manager.
For more information about how to add or remove catalog items, see Create Your First OS.
Hardware and Software Requirements
- Support for connecting to networks from the device. For more information, see Bluetooth Catalog Items and Sysgen Variables, Network Driver Catalog Items and Sysgen Variables, or Cellular Radio (CellCore) Catalog Items and Sysgen Variables.
- The Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 Connection Manager was tightly coupled with Windows Embedded Compact Shell. Connection Manager relied on Shell to detect connections and receive configuration. In Compact 2013, Connection Manager detects and autoconfigures connections instead of receiving the information from Shell.
- For backward compatibility issues, see Differences in Connection Manager from Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 to Windows Embedded Compact 7.
