Windows Embedded Compact 7 - Update 3 adds software improvements and product functionality updates to your installation of Windows Embedded Compact 7.
You can install this software update either from the Microsoft Download Center or by using Windows Embedded Developer Update in Platform Builder for Windows Embedded Compact 7. For information about registering for Windows Embedded Developer Update, see Release Notes for Windows Embedded Compact 7.
When you install Windows Embedded Compact 7 - Update 3, it installs the following software:
- Product functionality updates that are listed in this topic
- Product functionality updates and software improvements in Windows Embedded Compact 7 – RDP RemoteFX Update (see What's New in Windows Embedded Compact 7 - RDP RemoteFX Update)
- Various software improvements and an update roll-up that includes additional hotfixes for Compact 7
Windows Embedded Compact 7 - Update 3 includes the following product functionality updates:
- The Compact Stress Tool is a test tool in the Windows Embedded Compact Test Kit (CTK) that you can use to stress-test a device. For more information, see Windows Embedded CTK User Guide on the web.
- The Windows Embedded Compact Test Kit (CTK) CTK Automation Tool Solution (CATS) tool is a test tool that you can use to automate test passes. For more information, see Windows Embedded CTK User Guide on the web.
Windows Embedded Compact 7 - Update 3 also includes various software improvements and an update roll-up that provides the following hotfixes:
- Updated NAND flash-memory MDD device driver with software improvements (hotfix 30959)
This hotfix helps resolve corruption issues with NAND flash and issues with how Compact 7 handles hardware failures. - Updated Internet Explorer 7.0 Sample Browser (SYSGEN_IE7_IESAMPLE) with memory usage improvements (hotfix 30958)
This hotfix resolves memory usage issues that occur when users view .htm files by using Internet Explorer 7.0 Sample Browser (SYSGEN_IE7_IESAMPLE) on a Windows Embedded Compact powered device. - Updated functionality for opening an ASP page from a Compact 7 web server (hotfix 110731)
This hotfix helps resolve an issue in which a client opens an ASP page from a Compact 7 web server and a thirty-second delay occurs before the page opens.
