IPMPropInfo::Type

This method obtains or sets the type of the property information object.

To obtain the type of the property information object use the following syntax.

HRESULT Type(
  long* pdwType 
);

To set the type of the property information object use the following syntax.

HRESULT Type(
  long dwType 
);

Parameters

  • pdwType
    [out] Pointer to the type of the property information object.

    The following table shows valid types for a property information object.

    Type Description
    REG_SZ String with a terminating nul character.
    REG_DWORD 32-bit numerical value.
    REG_BINARY Any value that translates REG_BINARY.

  • dwType
    [in] Type of the property information object.

Return Values

Returns S_OK if the call was successfully completed. If a failure occurs, the appropriate HRESULT value is returned.
