reportError method

Obsolete. Used by the control to report errors.

Syntax

HRESULT retVal = object.reportError(hr, errorString);

Parameters

  • hr [in]
    Type: HRESULT

  • errorString [in]
    Type: BSTR

    BSTR that specifies the error string

Return value

Type: HRESULT

If this method succeeds, it returns S_OK. Otherwise, it returns an HRESULT error code.

Remarks

This method is only relevant for people who are writing a custom player for HTML+TIME (Timed Interactive Multimedia Extensions).

Custom media players for HTML+TIME are no longer supported as of Windows Internet Explorer 7.
