Capture Filter SAPs and ETYPEs dialog box

Use this dialog box to specify the protocols that Network Monitor captures while your capture filter runs. The choices that you make in this dialog box are reflected in the line that begins with SAP/ETYPE= in the decision tree in the Capture Filter dialog box. Only protocols that use an SAP or an ETYPE can be filtered in the capture filter.

  • Enabled Protocols

    The protocols that Network Monitor uses to capture frames from the network. By default, all protocols are enabled.

    Double-click any protocol in this box to move it to the Disabled Protocols table.

    • Protocol

      The names of all currently enabled protocols.

    • Comment

      A brief description of each enabled protocol.

    • Type

      The enabled protocol ETYPE or SAP.

    • Values

      Possible values of enabled protocols.

  • Disable

    Click to move the protocols that you select in the Enabled Protocols table to the Disabled Protocols table.

  • Disable All

    Click to disable all available protocols.

  • Enable

    Click to move protocols that you selected in the Disabled Protocols table to the Enabled Protocols table.

  • Enable All

    Click to enable all available protocols.

  • Disabled Protocols

    The currently disabled protocols, which will not be used to capture network data.

    • Protocol

      The names of all currently disabled protocols.

    • Comment

      A brief description of each disabled protocol.

    • Type

      The disabled protocol type (ETYPE or SAP).

    • Values

      Possible values of disabled protocols.
