Using additional TCP/IP services
WINS, DHCP, and DNS Services use additional server resources, which must be considered before implementing any of these services on a server also operating as a cluster host. It is highly recommended that you do not run WINS, DHCP, or DNS Services on cluster hosts. In particular, WINS can require substantial overhead during peak logon times in large networks. In such cases, make sure that your server has the necessary capacity to perform adequately.
