Configure caller ID and callback

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To configure caller ID and callback

  1. Do one of the following:

    If the remote access server is part of a Windows Server 2003 domain:

    1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers.

    2. In the console tree, click Users.

      • Where?

        Active Directory Users and Computers/domain name/Users

    3. In the details pane, right-click a user name, and then click Properties.

    If the remote access server is a stand-alone server (not a part of a domain):

    1. Open Computer Management.

    2. In the console tree, click Users.

      • Where?

        Computer Management/System Tools/Local Users and Groups/Users

    3. In the details pane, right-click a user name, and then click Properties.

  2. On the Dial-in tab, do the following:

    • For caller ID, select the Verify Caller-ID check box, and then type the number that the user is calling from.

    • For callback, under Callback Options, click the callback option you want to set for this user.

Notes

  • To open Active Directory Users and Computers, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Active Directory Users and Computers.

  • To open Computer Management, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management.

  • If the remote access server is part of a Windows NT 4.0 domain, you can use the Windows NT 4.0 User Manager for Domains administrative tool to set callback options for user accounts.
