Fixquorum command

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

Fixquorum command

The fixquorum command allows you to start the cluster service even if there are problems with the quorum resource. Only one node at a time can be started with this command. You cannot join any other nodes to the node started using this command.

The syntax is:

clussvc /debug /fixquorum

Preferably, you can use the fixquorum command as a start parameter when starting the cluster service in the Computer Management console. For more information, see Set the Cluster service to only start manually.

When the fixquorum command is issued on a particular node, the Cluster service starts, but all the resources, including the quorum resource, remain offline. This allows you to then manually bring the quorum resource online and more easily diagnose quorum device failures. You can use this command, for example, if you need to switch from a problematic quorum disk to another quorum resource. For more information, see Use a different disk for the quorum resource.
