Other services for the small office network

For this scenario, the DHCP service is used to automatically configure IP addresses and other information on client computers. Because DHCP is used, the DHCP Relay Agent must be configured on the interface for Router 1 on Network A and on the interface for Router 2 on Network C. When the DHCP Relay Agent is used, DHCP client computers on Networks A and C can acquire addresses from the DHCP server on Network B. Notes

  • You do not need to use the DHCP Relay Agent on a router if there is a DHCP server on each network segment.
