Use this procedure to remove sites from a Message Queuing server's list of sites.

You can use this procedure to remove sites from a Message Queuing server's list of sites.

Membership in <Domain>\Domain Users, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure.

To remove sites from a Message Queuing server's list of sites

  1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Users and Computers.

  2. On the View menu, click Users, Groups, and Computers as containers, and then click Advanced Features.

  3. In the console tree, right-click msmq.

    Where?

    • Active Directory Users and Computers/YourDomain/YourOrganizationalUnit (such as Computers or Domain Controllers)/YourComputer/msmq
  4. Click Properties.

  5. Click the Sites tab, and in ComputerNameSites, select a site to remove from the list of sites where the server resides, and then click Remove.

Additional considerations

  • In most cases, Message Queuing automatically determines the sites in which servers reside. This procedure is needed to remove sites manually from the list of sites where a server resides. The applicable servers are Message Queuing servers with routing enabled, which are also called routing servers.
