Enable or Disable a Library
Applies To: Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista
To complete this procedure, you need the appropriate administrative credentials for the affected Removable Storage item. To maintain system security, rather than logging on as an administrator, log on as a user without administrative credentials and then run Removable Storage with administrative credentials.
To run Removable Storage with administrative credentials
Open a command prompt with administrative credentials. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then point to Run as administrator.
Provide administrative credentials for an account in the Administrators group, and then click Submit. A command prompt with administrative credentials opens.
At the command prompt, type mmc.exe.
Enable or disable a library
To enable or disable a library
In Removable Storage, double-click Libraries in the console tree.
Right-click the library you want to enable or disable, and then click Properties.
In the Properties dialog box, on the General tab, do one of the following:
To enable the library, verify that the Enable library check box is selected.
To disable the library, clear the check box.
Note
Disabling a library makes it unavailable for use.
