Federation Service Proxy
Applies To: Windows Server 2008
The Federation Service Proxy is a component of Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) that can be installed independently from other AD FS components. The Federation Service Proxy functions as a proxy in a perimeter network (also known as a demilitarized zone or a screened subnet) for the Federation Service.
Aspects
The following is a list of all aspects that are part of this managed entity:
Name | Description |
---|---|
Federation Server communication is communication between federation servers and federation server proxies. A federation server proxy should be updated from the Federation Service. Federation Server communication fails if the federation server proxy cannot be updated and the information in the trust policy is configured incorrectly. |

You can use Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) log files to troubleshoot issues with the federation server proxy. The creation and updating of AD FS log files are monitored here. |
