Event ID 4018 — DNS Server Active Directory Integration
Applies To: Windows Server 2008

Resolve
Free memory or other system resources
Close any unnecessary applications or services, and then try the operation again.
If the operation fails again, restart the computer to free any memory or other system resources that have been allocated by programs without being released. Use Server Manager to ensure that the DNS Server service has started.
To perform this procedure, you must have membership in Administrators, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority.
To restart the computer:
- On the DNS server, click Start, click the arrow next to the Lock button, and then click Restart.
To ensure that the DNS Server service has started:
- On the DNS server, start Server Manager. To start Server Manager, click Start, click Administrative Tools, and then click Server Manager.
- In the console tree, expand Roles, and then click DNS Server.
The System Services list shows the state of the DNS Server service.
If the problem persists, one or more applications running on the server might be causing memory problems.
