Resolve
Correct DSCP marking override setting
DSCP marking override restricts the ability of applications to specify, or "mark," DSCP values other than those specified in QoS policies. By specifying that applications are allowed to set DSCP values, applications can set non-zero DSCP values. By specifying Ignored, applications that use QoS application programming interfaces (APIs) will have their DSCP values set to zero, and only QoS policies can set DSCP values. By default, computers running Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 allow applications to specify DSCP values; applications and devices that do not use the QoS APIs are not overridden.
You must be logged on as an administrator or belong to the Administrators group to complete this procedure.
To set DSCP marking override:
- Click Start, point to All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, click Run as administrator, click Continue, type gpedit, and then press ENTER.
- In Group Policy Management Editor, click Local Computer Policy, click Windows Settings, right-click Policy-based QoS, and then click Advanced QoS Settings.
- In DSCP marking override, select Allowed or Ignored according to your policy preference, and then click OK.
Note: You can use Group Policy Management Console to change these settings on more than one computer.
