Stop Sharing a Resource
Applies To: Windows Server 2008
You can stop sharing a folder or volume listed on the Shares tab in Share and Storage Management. If a folder or volume is shared for access by both the Server Message Block (SMB) and Network File System (NFS) protocols, you must stop sharing for each protocol individually.
Warning
If you stop sharing a folder or volume that is in use, data corruption can occur. Before you stop sharing a resource, verify that it is not in use and that no users are connected to it. For more information about how you can determine which network users are currently accessing folders or files on your server, see Manage Sessions and Open Files.
Membership in Administrators, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete these procedures. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477.
