Add Descriptions to Queue Aliases

Use this procedure to add descriptions to Message Queuing queue aliases.

You can use this procedure to add descriptions to queue aliases. Add descriptions to queue aliases to ease administration of queue aliases.

Membership in <Domain>\Domain Users, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure.

To add descriptions to queue aliases

  1. click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Users and Computers.

  2. On the View menu, click Users, Groups, and Computers as containers, and then on the View menu, click Advanced Features.

  3. In the console tree, click the applicable container.

    Where?

    • Active Directory Users and Computers/YourDomain/YourContainer (such as Computers or Domain Controllers)
  4. In the details pane, double-click the applicable queue alias or right-click the queue alias, and then click Properties.

  5. Under Description, type a description for the alias queue.

Additional considerations

  • To see the new queue alias description, press F5 to refresh the pane.
