Navigate to a Site in IIS Manager (IIS 7)

Applies To: Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista

Server administrators and non-administrators can configure settings for sites in IIS Manager. Non-administrators must be granted permission to a site and provided with logon details by a server administrator. Then the user can provide credentials to connect to the site, and configure settings for that site and any applications within that site.

Note

Server administrators have access to all sites and applications on the Web server.

To navigate to a site in IIS Manager

  1. Open IIS Manager. For information about opening IIS Manager, see Open IIS Manager (IIS 7).

  2. In the Connections pane:

    • If you are a server administrator, expand the Sites node and click a site in the tree.

    • If you are non-administrator who has permission to connect to a site, use the tools in the Connections pane to connect to the site that you want to manage. Then click the site in the tree.

  3. In Features View, on the SiteHome page, double-click a feature to configure that feature for the site.
